THE WESSEX BRANCH

The Wessex Branch of the School of Economic Science opened in Southampton in 1983 and currently has venues also in Bournemouth, Fareham, Portsmouth and Winchester.

The Introductory Course is offered two or three times a year, broadly in line with the normal academic terms.

Many students, having completed the Introductory Course, opt to continue their studies in greater depth in subsequent terms.

Occasional lectures are offered throughout the year on a variety of subjects related to the practical application of philosophy. These events are very popular and usually open to family and friends. Advance booking is recommended.

In accordance with the practice throughout the School of Economic Science, Tutors and all supporting staff give their time entirely free of charge. Students’ fees go only to defray the costs of premises, advertising and administration. The School receives no subsidies.

It is the policy always to maintain fees at as modest a level as possible so that the courses are widely affordable.
